Un modèle de gravité de la mobilité

Abstract

Selon le Haut-Commissariat des Nations Unies pour les réfugiés, une population impor-tante a été forcée de quitter son lieu de résidence ces dernières années. Le présent article applique un modèle de gravité pour évaluer le poids relatif des différents facteurs qui déterminent les flux de personnes ayant demandé l’asile pendant l’année 2014 à l’échelle internationale. L’analyse des données montre qu’il existe une forte relation entre les po-pulations de réfugiés et celles de demandeurs d’asile, les premières représentant la « trace » cumulative des approbations des demandes d’asile des années précédentes. Il ressort aussi que les pays d’origine des réfugiés sont généralement caractérisés par un accès limité à l’eau potable, ce qui concerne plutôt les pays africains et du Moyen-Orient.
