The effects of organizational service orientation on person--organization fit and turnover intent

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to understand interrelationship among organizational service orientation, person--organization fit, and turnover intent in a deluxe hotel. The study involved 311 Korean employees. The results showed a positive relationship between organizational service orientation and employees' person--organization fit. Participants who reported a high level of service orientation were more likely to be appropriate fits for their organization. In addition, person--organization fit was negatively associated with employees' intention to leave the organization. Limitations and future research directions are also discussed.
