Abstract

This paper is concerned with the analysis of differences in employment and wage growth rates inside and outside Italian industrial districts. On the basis of national statistical data, employment and wage differentials in manufacturing industries are compared between district and non-district areas. The aim is to investigate whether the industrial district model generates better labour conditions for sustaining employment performance and wage levels. Muscio A. et Scarpinato M. A partir des donnees recueillies sur le plan national, on compare les ecarts de l'emploi et des salaires dans les industries situees dans les zones qui comportent de tels districts par rapport a celles qui n'en comportent pas. On cherche a examiner si, oui ou non, le modele fonde sur la notion de districts industriels fournit de meilleures conditions du travail susceptibles de maintenir les niveaux de l'emploi et des salaires. Ausgehend von nationalen statistischen Daten vergleichen wir die Unterschiede im Beschaftigungs- und Lohnniveau in produzierenden Branchen zwischen Bezirks- und Nichtbezirksgegenden. Ziel ist die Untersuchung, ob das Modell der Industriebezirke bessere Arbeitsbedingungen fur ein nachhaltig hohes Beschaftigungs- und Lohnniveau bietet.
