Abstract

Zusammenfassung Der Koalitionsvertrag von Union und SPD enthält erste Schritte in Richtung einer Ausweitung der öffentlichen Investitionen in Bildung und Betreuung, Wohnungsbau und digitale Infrastruktur. Zusätzliche Investitionen in diesen drei Kernbereichen sind aus wirtschaftlicher und gesellschaftlicher Sicht positiv zu bewerten, doch das im Koalitionsvertrag vorgesehene Finanzvolumen ist teilweise zu gering. Eine ambitioniertere Investitionsagenda, die den vorhandenen öffentlichen Investitionsbedarf in Deutschland nachhaltig deckt, wird im Folgenden entwickelt. Eine Simulationsanalyse zeigt, dass sich die Umsetzung einer solchen Investitionsagenda langfristig für alle lohnt.
