Abstract

Zusammenfassung Der Beitrag berichtet über die vielen Jahre gemeinsamer Forschung mit Arnold Picot. Die Zusammenarbeit war in den 1970er- und 1980er-Jahren geprägt von der empirischen Organisationsforschung und den Feldversuchen zur Pilotierung der neuen Informations- und Kommunikationstechniken (IuK). Die Ergebnisse brachten neue Perspektiven für die Organisation der Arbeitsteilung und der Wertschöpfung. In den 90er-Jahren war die Forschung stark geprägt von den Ansätzen der Institutionenökonomik, die durch Arnold Picot in die betriebswirtschaftliche Organisationsforschung eingebracht wurden. Sie erklären, warum die Einführung neuer IuK-Technik zum Abbau von Hierarchie in Unternehmen und zur Vernetzung von Wertschöpfungsketten über die Unternehmensgrenzen hinweg führen. Es entstehen neue Formen der Wertschöpfung und der Arbeitsteilung in Unternehmen und Märkten, die ökonomisch effizienter sind. In dem Gemeinschaftswerk „Die Grenzenlose Unternehmung“ werden diese neuen Koordinationsformen der Wertschöpfung und der Arbeitsteilung in Unternehmen und Märkten vorgestellt.
