Abstract

Summary At present the internet is characterized by an increasing number of commercial users. For most of them it seems to be still unclear how to maximize benefit from internet usage. This article describes several ways of using the internet, e. g. in order to provide enterprises with better information, use the internet as a marketing medium or as a supply channel. Inside corporations intranets can complete existing information and communication systems. Examples illustrate costs and benefits of internet technology in enterprises.
