Abstract

The study was undertaken for the purpose of finding out the potential of forest landscape restoration in selected geo heritage sites in Haripur District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. For this purpose, two geo heritage sites in District Haripur were selected namely Neelan Bhoto and Bhamala Stupa. The GIS techniques were used to identify land cover/land use. The increase in vegetation cover was determined through the Phytosociological survey. A face to face interview with randomly selected tourists was carried out during tourist seasons (July–September 2019). The study revealed the following potential land cover/land use namely build zones, water bodies, primary forest, vegetation cover, degraded land in both the study sites.
