Abstract

The concepts of vision and mission have been widely used parallel to strategic management paradigm become wide speared. Yet, this situation resulted in chaos due to misusing these concepts. The concepts of vision and mission have been mostly used as an exchangeable manner in place of each other and caused managers get confused. All organizations in the same industry have almost the same vision and mission statements. However, even if the statements were the same, the function of these two concepts will vary at different organizations with different values. In this study, there has been exposed the relationship between mission, vision and the concept of “organizational values”, which gives meaning to the concepts of vision and mission and renders them more functional for managers as a management concept.
