Abstract

The role of categorical (dummy) variables in regression modelling is investigated in this study. In this respect, it is shown, based on linear probability model and logit model, to what extent the values of dependent dummy variables change with respect to the values of independent variables. The study aims at determining the probability that the students complete their university programs within the period of four years with respect to their scores from the quantitative section in the Turkish University Placement Test (OYS).
