Segregacion y brechas entre hombres y mujeres en el trabajo no remunerado en Mexico

Abstract

La segregacion ocupacional basada en el sexo es una problematica persistente en el mercado laboral; este fenomeno se extiende por todos los rincones del mundo. Aun mas, en el trabajo no remunerado se aprecia la segregacion y grandes diferencias entre hombres y mujeres. Asi, el objetivo de este trabajo es estimar, para Mexico, la profundidad de la segregacion y el tamano de las brechas de las horas dedicadas al trabajo no remunerado entre hombres y mujeres para el periodo 2013 a 2021. Para este proposito, utilizando datos de la Encuesta Nacional de Ocupacion y Empleo, elaboramos un indice de disimilitud para analizar la evolucion de la segregacion en el trabajo no remunerado. Los resultados indican que las mayores brechas estan en los quehaceres y cuidados; los hombres invierten menor tiempo a estos trabajos y lo hacen con una distribucion desigual, acentuando la division sexual del trabajo y la segregacion.
