Abstract

The study compares the Swiss and the resident foreign population in Switzerland with respect to their qualitative composition. On the basis of the Consumer Survey 1990 by the Swiss Statistical Office, different structural features of the surveyed Swiss and foreign households are analysed. A comparison of these characteristics shows statistically significant differences in age, number of children, household size and household income.
