Abstract

The purpose of this article is to deal with the situation of gender perspective integration, within the official statistics of the Galician community, through the review of statistical planning. This aim is thus defined through a double objective. On the one hand, to analyse the Gender Statistics currently in development in the Galician Statistical Plan context, and, on the other, to present a new approach to evaluation, through monitoring indicators, of the gender perspective integration in the production and diffusion of the Galician official statistics under the crosscutting paradigm. In order to provide an answer to this double aim, it is necessary to analyse the different tools of strategic planning of the Galician statistics system. First of all, through the study of the Galician Statistical Plan, this introduces planning by aims and goals, and the notion of the statistic operation as a statistic activity with its own added value. Also, by examining an evaluation and monitoring by indicators, as a basic tool in planning, as well as a means for reflection upon the limits of the scope and implications of the notion of indicator.
