Abstract

В статье на примере старейшего сибирского высшего учебного заведения - Томского медицинского института - анализируются преобразования высшей медицинской школы в контексте общего реформирования советского общества в 1920-1930-х годах. "Разукрупнение" классических университетов и реорганизация их по отраслевому принципу в ходе реформы высшей школы зачастую приводили к созданию нежизнеспособных институтов. Вузовская аудитория - дети рабочих и крестьян - была не готова к новым методам преподавания. В результате многие поспешные нововведения, не оправдав себя на практике, ушли в прошлое.
