Abstract

The subject of the research is the process of collection and analysis of information related to offshore companies, i. e. companies registered in offshore jurisdictions as well as the impact of various factors on this process. The purpose of the research was to develop and describe comprehensive measures to solve the problems associated with collecting information in relation to companies registered in offshore jurisdictions. The novelty of the research. The paper describes the author’s methodology of dealing with difficulties arising in the process of preliminary assessment of offshore companies that involves an integrated approach including three interrelated methods of collection and further analysis of information, namely: “desk” research and study of paid databases accessible by subscription, “field” research and the involvement of specialists with specific skills. The proposed model and approach to solving the problem in question is an effective practical tool that, if desired, can be used by companies in the assessment of potential partners subject to offshore jurisdictions. Therefore, the paper concludes that despite the problems existing in collection and analysis of information on companies registered in offshore jurisdictions, there are effective solutions provided by using various methods of collection and subsequent analysis of information.
