Abstract

В статті розглянуто різноманіття поглядів на визначення категорії «регіон». Описано напрями бачення нової якості регіональної економіки в умовах інтеграційних перетворень. Описано використання децентралізації в сучасному економічному розвитку регіонів, як специфічного методу управління. Розглянуто передумови виникнення старопромислових регіонів України та дано власне визначення терміна «старопромисловий регіон». Також у статті досліджено, які з регіонів України можна віднести до старопромислових регіонів.
