Abstract

В современных условиях финансовой нестабильности в экономических кругах вновь начались дискуссии о необходимости изменения существующих стандартов международной денежной системы, пересмотра роли золота, доллара, евро, СДР, региональных валют, и возможности введения в обращения новых мировых валют. В работе приведено обобщение и систематизация взглядов экономистов с древности до настоящего времени по вопросам теории денег. Из поведенного анализа видно, что не существует общепризнанной теории происхождение денег. При этом в каждый период экономического развития общества появлялась и преобладала своя концепция сущности денег и построения денежных систем.
