Abstract

Центральный тезис работы Томаса Пикетти состоит в том, что процент на унаследованное богатство порождает долгосрочную и неустранимую тенденцию к росту неравенства доходов. Автор собрал и представил множество эмпирических материалов в подтверждение этого тезиса. Однако сами приведенные данные показывают, что тенденция к систематическому росту неравенства проявляется лишь недавно и лишь в некоторых странах. Более того, в ходе эволюционного процесса стабильный процент богатых людей постоянно лишается этого статуса или, наоборот, приобретает его. Пикетти не видит ключевой роли, которую играет вход новых предпринимателей на рынки, без этого невозможно понять то, как происходит исторический процесс изменений, проходящих проверку рынком.
