Abstract

The development of advanced manufacturing technologies produces tangible social and economic impacts and has strategic importance for strengthening competitiveness of a country’s economy. The article compares the capacities of Russia and the world’s leading countries in the field of advanced manufacturing technologies, and outlines policy tools to support the development of such technologies. Special attention is paid to the scientific and industrial consortia which aim to support promising developments at the precompetitive stage.
