Abstract

В статье представлены основные направления археологической деятельности Саратовской ученой архивной комиссии (1886 1920 гг.), в течение ряда десятилетий планомерно и целенаправленно работавшей в области изучения древностей нижневолжского региона. Актуальность исследования определяется недостаточной изученностью дореволюционного периода в развитии археологической науки в провинции, в частности в Нижнем Поволжье.
