Abstract

Выход в свет в конце 2003 г. в США новой книги лауреата Нобелевской премии 2001 г. по экономике Джозефа Стиглица «The Roaring Nineties. Seeds of Distruction». W.W. Norton & Company, NY, L. 2003 значительное событие в мировой экономической науке. Автор книги является не только выдающимся американским ученым. Он возглавлял Совет экономических советников Президента США Б. Клинтона в 1993-1997 гг., был первым вице-президентом Мирового банка в 1997-январе 2001 гг., участвовал в проведении экономической политики в США и мире, посетил десятки стран. В России книга издана в переводе доктора политических наук Г.Г. Пирогова, которому удалось донести до читателя неистовый дух идей Дж. Стиглица и внести в виде примечаний важные дополнения и пояснения, развивающие идеи, изложенные в книге.
