Abstract

The article reviews the history of Kyiv Commodity and Stock Exchange, which was founded after the beginning of «sugar boom» and Kyiv’s transormation into a «sugar capital». Particular attention is given to operations with securities of the sugar factories, on which Kiev Commodity and Stock Exchange specialized. Analysis of exchange quotes over the years shows features of this stock exchange associated with specific of Kyiv as a major financial center of the central region of Ukraine. Розглянуто історію Київської товарно-фондової біржі, що виникла після початку «цукрового буму» і перетворення Києва на «столицю цукру». Особлива увага приділена операціям з цінними паперами цукрових заводів, на яких спеціалізувалася біржа. Проаналізовано котирування біржі в різні роки й показано її особливості, пов’язані зі специфікою Києва як основного фінансового центру центрального регіону України.
