Abstract

The employment problems of older people are analyzed in the article. The content and form of labor discrimination are defined there. Its effect on the measure of return of investment in education and training is characterized. Taking the widely held view of the importance of lifelong learning, the authors have set a goal to provide an answer to a number of pressing questions about the rationality of such steps in Ukraine, where low demand for labor people of older age groups are dominate and significant signs of labor discrimination are presented. Проаналізовано проблеми зайнятості осіб літнього віку. Визначено зміст та форми трудової дискримінації, охарактеризовано її вплив на міру окупності інвестицій у сферу освіти та професійної підготовки. Зважаючи на розповсюджену думку про важливість навчання протягом життя, автори поставили за мету дати відповідь на ряд актуальних запитань стосовно раціональності подібних кроків в Україні, де переважає занизький попит на працю осіб старших вікових груп та чимраз яскравіше проявляються ознаки трудової дискримінації.
