Abstract

For a complex and changing business environment this paper addresses the research issue of developing a comprehensive information base with integrity and also stresses on the fact that the traditional view of schema is not enough in the current business environment. The paper begins with identifying every generic business process with a physical and informational work system and the fact that each of these are represented by closed loop information and control system, backed by a information base. The paper identifies the fact that the information base functions in a complex information and control system delivering support for flexible decision making. It also enhances the fact that operable goal setting w.r.t defining ‘many’ factors, ‘multiple’ criteria characterized by problem system complexity needs to be reflected in developing an Information base model with integrity. Finally the paper proposes that an information base design model needs to be identified which preserves integrity of information through an ever evolving schema open to the environment.
