Author

Abstract

We are in the knowledge economy and management scholars worldwide agree that knowledge is the most critical resource today. Research was conducted to understand the current state of financing Knowledge Management (KM) and measurement of knowledge in selected sectors, namely software, pharmaceutical, and petroleum marketing of Indian industry taking both macro and micro aspects as well as both private and public sectors. The findings for measurement are not very encouraging as they reveal that there is a lack of measurement efforts for knowledge or knowledge management. Interestingly, there is no lack of funds for knowledge management and funds for KM are coming mainly from IT/R&D areas.
