Abstract

The world-wide, competitive market economy of today has completely changed the industrial relations scene. For their very survival, industries have to downsize, subcontract and attend to the demands of the consumer. All this has brought management and employees closer and bypassed trade unions. A change in the IR Act is urgent which will help managements, workers and unions deal with each other like partners not opponents.
