Abstract

The main purpose of the present study was to determine the level of development of the coordinative capacity/balance. The main objective was to carry out a study showing that the balance can also be improved in students using the specific means of physical education, which is in fact a prerequisite for improving the physical condition of young people. The study was conducted during physical education classes at the Oil – Gas University in Ploiesti and a total of 56 students (36 girls and 20 boys) were tested. The study in question was carried out on the basis of the Bass test. The results demonstrated a relativelly small differences between boys and girls in boys favor, meaning less than 9 points between the groups. Improving the coordination of skills – balance can also be achieved at adult age, with the use of physical education resources being one of the factors that benefits the development of the individual in general. Adapting the program by increasing the number of hours aimed at developing the coordinative capacities of students can only play a useful role in developing other motor qualities to some extent, but especially in speeding up the formation of motor skills
