Abstract

The purpose of the article is to analyze the semantic origins of the concept “sacrifice" which is an expression of an important factor of a European’s social life; both traditional and modern. The analytical method of research is based on historical and religious material, on works of an anthropological and phenomenological religion. The extensive historical and bibliographic material as a result proves the proposition that the concept of sacrifice and sacrificial not only substantiated traditional classical Christian civilization, but continues to influence modern society even if the problem is externally considered from the legal, psychological aspects or fixed to be resolved. The general conclusion consists in rethinking the in-depth understanding of the concept of sacrifice and the ability to resist the manipulation of this concept as regards the human being.
