Abstract

The article is devoted to reviewing ethics of objectivism of Ayn Rand (Alisa Rosenbaum, 1905–1982), emigrant from Russia who became a symbol of fighting for values of capitalism in economics and rational egoism in ethics in America. In the first part the author analyzes ethics of objectivism considering its guiding principle – rational egoism in detail and also gives her own critical point of view on Ayn Rand’s theory. In the second part of the article the author makes comparison between the notion of egoism of Rand and famous analogical concepts in philosophic thought (Enlightenment philosophers, F Nietzsche, M. Shtirner, L. Feuerbach).
