Abstract

The article considers peculiarities of the state’s cultural policy at the present stage of national history. The author shows how basic principles become the subject of widely spread public dialogue. As exemplified by the discussion over the film “Matilda” directed by Alexey Uchitel the author makes a conclusion that political disagreements of the actors of socialcultural process express two opposite tendencies of possible development of Russian culture and society.
