Abstract

The article presents the results of the analysis of the works by the student youth, based on the subjective characteristics of an urban patriot. The research was preconditioned by the relevance of the search for ways of developing patriotic sentiments of the youth not only at the country level, but also in the urban space, and on the other hand, by the devaluation of this quality in certain population segments, including students. The research of the students' perceptions of the urban patriotism manifestation allows for the identification of the directions of the municipal authorities' efforts to create conditions for the patriotic youth formation, in Ekaterinburg in particular. The research was based on studying the published results of scholarly articles on the issue of patriotism, its manifestations in various aspects, at different age stages, in different territorial conditions. The method of content analysis was employed. Certain results were tried out in the context of the IV International Symposium of the Ekaterinburg Academy of Contemporary Art 'Urban patriotism: economics, politics and culture of local changes' (September 27-30, 2021). Descriptors were identified, which allow for registering the perceptions of the student youth about a patriotic city resident. The system of young people's views on the urban space development is revealed, which is able to make living in the city psychologically comfortable, the formation of attachment to it, the desire to stay and constructively demonstrate their civic position. The article is addressed to scientific and practical spcialists connected with various urban systems development.
