Abstract

The paper shows the trend of the electrochemical treatment equipment implementation in the water treatment systems as a pre-oxidation step. This equipment generates chemical reactions, oxidation-reduction reactions, under electrical pulse influence, in order to optimize the process and reduce the specific consumption of chemical reagents, using only electricity. Depending of the water quality upstream of the electrochemical treatment step, a brine solution can by dosed, and if in the treatment process isn’t used the biological denitrification downstream of the mentioned step can be added air pressurised oxygenation of the water. In this paper are presented three case study in which was used an electrochemical treatment step, as pre-oxidation stage. This electrochemical equipment is adapted in function of the water flow and pollutants concentration.
