Abstract

Clostridium Perfringens is an indicator of fecal pollution that occurred previously and its occurrence in the water indicates the presence of enteric viruses and protozoa coming from intermittent sources of contamination of surface water. Clostridium Perfringens spores are smaller than protozoan cysts and bacteria and can be considered an indicator of the efficiency of the filtration process on the treatment plants, so its detection in the filtered water requires a rigorous analysis of the of each treatment stage efficiency.
