Abstract

This paper presents the results of experimental research conducted to evaluate the performance of different types of aeration systems for biological wastewater treatment air dispersion. The evolution of oxygen concentration was evaluated in aeration tanks considering two influent airflow values as well as two different locations of the measurement points. The aim of modifying the location of the oxygen sensors in the tank was to the degree of concentration uniformity in the aeration tanks. The results are consistent with the data found in the literature and confirmed in experimental conditions the superior efficiency of porous diffusers when compared to perforated pipes when used in water oxygenation.
