Determinantes del uso de plaguicidas entre los productores del sector agrícola de Bolivia: una aplicación de modelos de respuesta binaria

Abstract

El estudio evalúa los factores que influyen en la probabilidad de que los productores agropecuarios hagan uso de químicos plaguicidas según la Encuesta Agropecuaria 2015 (Bolivia). Se aplican técnicas estadísticas de clasificación binaria: modelo Logit y modelo Probit, a una muestra de 1607 individuos, los cuales fueron seleccionados por muestreo deliberado (casos completos). Los resultados evidencian que, a un nivel estadístico, existe una relación estadísticamente significativa entre la probabilidad de usar plaguicidas y factores como ser: el tipo de cultivo, mes de cosecha, las decisiones sobre la asignación de tareas, la información sobre eventos climatológicos y el conocimiento del seguro agrario Pachamama. Por lo tanto, se concluye que el uso de plaguicidas está asociado con algunos de los factores considerados en la Encuesta Agropecuaria 2015.
