Efecto del gasto en investigación y desarrollo en el ingreso de los establecimientos de Ecuador

Abstract

El objetivo de esta investigación es determinar el efecto del gasto en investigación y desarrollo (I+D) en el ingreso de establecimientos públicos y privados de Ecuador en el periodo 2010-2014. Usando datos de panel, encontramos que los resultados concuerdan con la teoría económica, y muestran una relación positiva entre el gasto destinado a investigación y desarrollo con el ingreso de las establecimientos de los sectores público y privado. Sin embargo, dado que los ingresos son muy bajos en la mayor parte de establecimientos, se muestra que ambos sectores tienen deficiencia en investigación, pero los establecimientos privados han obtenido mejores resultados en investigación que le han llevado a mayores innovaciones. Con prioridad en el sector público, los resultados nos llevan a una implicación de política, que se basa en la aplicación de subsidios y por otra eliminación de aranceles de importación para aquellas empresas que por su investigación, desarrollen productos innovadores dentro del país.
