Abstract

A lo largo de este ensayo se abordará un tema poco discutido: El rol central que posee la economía en la Política Pública en Chile, destacando la creciente influencia que esta rama posee en la sociedad y sus condiciones de vida. Tal predominio de la economía es el resultado de una larga evolución, estando su mayor crecimiento durante la década de los 90’s en Chile. Sin embargo, la interrogante ahora apunta a si su rol – economía y economistas- se estanca en la creación de políticas públicas que privilegian la viabilidad política, o realmente se orientan a la eficiencia
