The Economic Policies Applied To The Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic In Khrushev’s Period

Abstract

The most important policies applied to the Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic during Khrushev’s period was Copper Soil Project and the creating of a Complex industrial centers. Through these policies, there have been a number of developments achieved in Kazakhstan's agriculture and industry. The kinds of policies carried out during Khrushev’s period is tried to be explained in this article. Khrushev's famous project in this context i.e. the Copper Soil Project has been shown to contribute greatly to the development of Kazakh SSR’s agriculture. And also moderate economic reforms such as increment in the purchase price of agricultural products and erasing the debt of the kolkhozes was also noted.Later, with the establishment of complex industrial enterprises, the Kazakh SSR experienced some industrial developments but however, it tried to explain that it remained a predominantly raw material-centered region.
