Abstract

The wage differentials across genders, regions, occupations, and across unionized and non-unionized sectors have been the focus of many leading economists. Some of the contributions to this topic include, Gary Becker (1971), Dennis Aigner and Glen Cain (1977), Shultz (1961), and Blinder (1973). Problem of selectivity bias has been of concern to applied labor economists.
