Abstract
This study presents an in-depth analysis of the results of the 2011 survey conducted by Question Retraite in order to assess the behaviour and attitude of a sample of 1605 Quebec workers in the 24-44 age group in regard to retirement planning. The methodology applies the cluster analysis approach to subdivide the respondents’ profile and behavior using a number of variables. Overall, the results of the study support the main prediction of the Life-cycle hypothesis of saving. They show that about 40% of that age group of workers could likely become dependent on the public retirement programs for their retirement income.
