El Sistema Nacional de Cuidados en Uruguay: una apuesta al bienestar, la igualdad y el desarrollo

Abstract

El Uruguay ha recorrido un período de intenso crecimiento económico. Sin embargo, éste, por sí mismo, no ha tenido un impacto significativo en las desigualdades de género. Ello conduce a discutir y proponer en torno a la relación entre las formas en que se realiza la reproducción social y el funcionamiento del sistema económico. Para ello, este trabajo discute esa relación ante el aporte que podría realizar un sistema nacional de cuidados y su posible incidencia en la base de las desigualdades sociales y de género, y por tanto, convertirse en un componente fundamental para transformar el crecimiento en desarrollo.
