Disparidades en el desarrollo regional en Tamaulipas, México

Abstract

En un periodo de consolidación de la apertura económica de la economía mexicana, iniciada a mediados de los ochenta, este trabajo analiza empíricamente la conglomeración del desarrollo local-municipal en Tamaulipas, un estado “exitoso” en este proceso. Intenta responder las siguientes preguntas: ¿existe un patrón de concentración espacial del desarrollo a nivel intermunicipal?, ¿la distribución del desarrollo muestras una conglomeración espacialmente significativa?, ¿se ha modificado en el periodo analizado? La evidencia sugiere que se ha configurado un régimen de municipios ganadores y perdedores que parece pasar de un patrón norte-sur a uno centro-periferia.
