La independencia de la banca central en Colombia desde 1923. Aspectos institucionales

Abstract

Un aspecto invariable de las discusiones sobre banca central es el de su independencia relativa para cumplir con sus funciones tradicionales de estabilización monetaria. En el caso de Colombia, dicha controversia ha hecho parte de las iniciativas de reforma del Banco de la República desde su creación en 1923. Este artículo presenta una perspectiva histórica de las reformas institucionales del Banco con especial referencia al tema de su independencia.
