Abstract

El trabajo intenta analizar los mecanismos a través de los cuales el Poder Ejecutivo Nacional ha participado a lo largo del siglo XX en la conformación del claustro docente de las universidades públicas, ya sean procedimientos directos o indirectos. La variedad de mecanismos utilizados con distintas posibilidades que incluyeron tanto variados sistemas de “purgas”, la designación directa de los profesores por parte del Poder Ejecutivo al principio del siglo, como la instauración de regímenes de concursos con condiciones explícitas o implícitas para la obtención de los cargos, demuestra que es necesario analizar a fondo en qué consiste en cada ámbito de aplicación la autonomía buscada por las universidades, especialmente en el campo de la carrera docente.
