Investigación: Consideraciones sobre el Tratamiento del Modo Subjuntivo en la Gramática de la Lengua Castellana de Andrés Bello

Abstract

Existen estudios que dan cuenta de una tendencia minimalista en algunas de las descripciones estructurales que desarrolla Andrés Bello en su Gramática de la Lengua Castellana (GLC),(Luján 1999, 2000, 2001). Este trabajo informa sobre los resultados obtenidos del análisis del tratamiento que el gramático hace del Modo Subjuntivo en su obra de 1847 con el fin de ver si el perfil minimalista del que habla Luján puede extenderse a otras áreas de su gramática. Concluimos que dada la heterogeneidad de criterios utilizados por Andrés Bello en la descripción de la forma estudiada, resulta dificil definir cuál es el elemento que funciona como núcreo proposicional. En el desarrollo que el gramático realiza, indiscutiblemente lo semántico opera conjuntamente con lo sintáctico y por momentos, parece adquirir más relevancia el tema del significado que el de la forma.
