El impacto de la cultura en el desarrollo de las PYMEs

Abstract

Este artículo analiza el impacto de la cultura sobre el desarrollo de las pequeñas y medianas empresas (en adelante PYME's). En Costa Rica cerca de un 94% de las empresas cae dentro de la clasificación de PYMES y más de un 70% de éstas se ubican en la región central (Ledesma, 2002). Según Ledesma, las estadísticas muestran que alrededor de 243.611 empleos directos están en relación con el sector, lo que representa cerca de un 20% de la población económicamente activa (en adelante PEA). De allí la importancia de analizar cualquier elemento que explique su alta mortalidad.
