Efectos de la apertura sobre el crecimiento cuando se tiene en cuenta el contexto

Abstract

No es solo si se abren o no, ni cuánto se abren, sino en qué contexto lo hacen. Se podría decir que la discusión sobre la relación entre apertura y crecimiento económico ha tenido un comportamiento cíclico. Hasta el momento se han mostrado resultados positivos, sin embargo algunos trabajos muestran que el efecto es ambiguo o, al menos, no es robusto. Este trabajo aporta nueva evidencia a la discusión. Su principal resultado es que existen importantes diferencias entre grupos de economías con respecto a los factores que explican el desempeño tecnológico y el crecimiento del producto.
