Concentración territorial de las empresas en la región chorotega: un análisis mediante técnicas de economia espacial

Abstract

El artículo que aquí presentamos es resultado de un estudio más amplio que se está realizando sobre la competitividad territorial y mercado de trabajo en la región Chorotega y forma parte de la investigación que en economía regional hemos venido realizando en el Instituto de Investigaciones en Ciencias Económicas (IICE) desde el año 2005. En este estudio aplicamos una serie de instrumentos técnicos, propios de la economía regional, para identificar la localización espacial de las empresas al interior de la región Chorotega y su grado de asociación espacial (cluster). Para lograr lo anterior se utilizaron aplicaciones del Sistema de Información Geográfica (SIG) y el Exploratory Spatial Data Analysis (ESDA).
