Abstract

The activity of research, analysis and use of information is the expression of the decision-maker’s need to adopt appropriate decisions. For a decision-maker information represents the vital “raw material” which sets in motion the entire process of approaching the respective decision. On the basis of the organization’s information system the knowledge of its realities is ensured, creating the proper conditions for the elaboration and achievement of managerial goals, as the information system allows the obtaining of the necessary information in order to substantiate the decision. The information systems’ utility should become apparent before, during and after making a decision. We believe that the elaboration of competent computerised systems with a view to assisting decision-making emerges as a priority for the new wave of managers. Change is part of the evolution of the local and global business environment. Thus, economic cycles lead to the appearance and disappearance of companies, and the period of the pandemic emphasized this aspect. For this reason, one of the methods through which companies can create resilience when faced with certain crises is digitalisation
