Abstract

“Rent seeking” is perhaps the biggest and most harmful misnomer in all of political economy. This critique of the linguistics involved is not a mere verbal dispute. Rather, it has important implications for this field of study. Why is this mportant? It is because communication itself is important, and cannot be properly conducted with inaccurate language.
