Estudio de valoración económica ambiental del Bosque Cuauhtémoc en Morelia, Michoacán

Abstract

Se presenta un estudio de Valoración Económica Ambiental sobre el Bosque Cuauhtémoc, aplicando el Método de Valoración Contingente. Dicho estudio fue elaborado en la ciudad de Morelia, capital del estado de Michoacán, México. El objetivo principal fue estimar la disposición a pagar por parte de un grupo de ciudadanos entrevistados, bajo el hipotético caso de que dicho bosque sufriera modificaciones por el continuo desarrollo urbano y con esto se viera afectado su bienestar. El contexto teórico está basado en las discusiones de Ostrom y Hardin, es decir, sobre las interrelaciones y problemáticas socioambientales que se generan entre distintos grupos de individuos bajo un espacio colectivo, y concretamente en el análisis de bienes comunes que se caracterizan por ser no rivales o no exclusivos, pero no ambos al mismo tiempo. Si bien los resultados de las estimaciones sobre la disposición a pagar para la conservación del patrimonio natural son alentadores, se consideran aportaciones bajas, puesto que la toma de decisiones de cada individuo sobre su disposición a pagar está influenciada por factores económicos, sociales, culturales y políticos.
